Gunmen have killed a 36-year-old man, injured a pastor and left a 57-year-old man missing following an attack on a farm in Lamor community, Pushit District, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
A community member, Nehemiah Bulus, who confirmed the incident to journalists in Jos on Wednesday night, said the victims were attacked at the farm of Pastor Apollos Charly in Lamor.
Bulus identified the deceased as Steven Bala, 36, while Pastor Charly sustained injuries. He added that Danbaba Libet, 57, remained missing after the attack.
According to Bulus, the assailants were gunmen reportedly responsible for attacks on communities across Plateau State.
He condemned the incident and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect residents and prevent further bloodshed.
“We condemn this senseless attack in the strongest terms. No community should be subjected to this kind of violence, and innocent people should not continue to lose their lives,” Bulus said.
He urged the relevant security agencies to investigate the incident, track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice. He also called for increased security presence in the area to prevent further attacks and reassure residents of their safety.
Efforts to reach security operatives for confirmation of the incident were unsuccessful.
